Well, after a long and painful absence, i figure its time i start posting on here again. I will devote each day to drawing a quick sketch and posting something new everyday. Since i doubt anyone reads this blog, it will be more for my own growth as an artist and my dedication to my craft. So here is a new picture to kick off my return to posting some stuff.

well, another convention under the belt and i gotta say...they never get old. i had such a blast in Knoxville TN. its such a beautiful city with massive green mountains surrounding it, awsome architechture, and the cleanest streets ive ever seen in a metropolitan area. you could literally eat off of them...actually i did see one guy doing that. he asked me for a quarter. nice guy...for a bum.

speaking of the people of knoxville, they are as polite as polite can be. you really get a grasp on the term "southern hospitality" while your there. i want to thank everyone who stopped by the table and hung out with me. those who got a sketch or a commission, i want to thank you guys and gals espcially. you really made my trip down there worth while. i hope to see all of you next time i visit.

i took my lovely girlfriend Marti with me to the show and she had an equally good time. the first night we were there we ate at this amazing steak joint called "the ye' old steak house". HOLY CRAP!!! BEST STEAK I'VE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE. serious. we split this enourmous 18 ounce prime rib of beef and we couldnt even eat it all. but ooohhh mama it was delish!

at night-time marti and i would head down to the hotel watering hole to enjoy a much earned (and needed) beverage. i ran into one of my all time favorite actors due to his great role on Firefly, Ron Glass (Shepard Book). What a cool guy. Hes originally from Evansville, IN. not even an hours drive from where i live. CRAZY!!!! sorry...had a geek moment.

so all in all this was on the top 5 of my favorite con experiences.

so i know its been quite a while since i posted anything and for that i am deeply regretful. but alas, its nothing completely new and exciting. here is the inked version of the spiderman peice ive been putting off for a while. i think it came out pretty good considering i suck ass at inking my own work. thanks to eric canete for sneaking that new ink brush in my bag, it has not gone to waste. so maybe in a few months i will have the colors posted too...

Ok, so this is just the first step in this peice. Im working on this for a little kid named Tevor. Hes turning 4 years old and he absolutely loves everything Spider-Man. However i have to redraw this because something foreign and sticky has attatched itself to the paper that this drawing rests upon. After i do so i will be putting webbing everywhere along with a Spider-Man logo at the top. And then proceed to color it all with Copic-sketch markers. hopefully if time permits, by the end of the week it should all be finished and i will have the final product to show. stay tuned.

I decided to draw a full page character sketch of cyborg and try to do it in under 90min. eric canete seems to excell at stuff like this so i thought i would give it the ol' college try. and wadda ya know. something decent came out of it. thanks for the inspiration eric. i hope ya'll dig it!

i drew this for my friend Mark who is being very patient and i thank him for it. i wasnt sure how this was going to turn out cause it was the GL Corps and these kind of peices are just busy as all get out and just seem to muck together in one massive green blob once colored. i hope ya diggs.

well its been a while since ive posted anything new so i figure what with everyone complaining theres no new material....and everyone meaning the only two people who read this damn blog (you know who you are)

I just finished drawing issue 1 of Dreadnoks : Declassified. If anyone ever watched GI JOE as a kid you know what im talkin about. Zartan the master of disguise got his own series. The story tells the origin of how the biker gang got together.
Me being a huge GI JOE fan i jumped at the chance to draw this title. I can remember back when i used to blow up my JOE figures with bobcat firecrackers. come to think of it i blew up alot of things. little did i know if i would have kept them all in mint condition i could retire on those god forsaken toys. anyways, I digress...

Before i started on the Dreadnoks book i did a 5 page flashback seqence in GI JOE Declassified #3. written by mr gi joe himself, Larry Hama. what you see here are some snipits from that story.

The book comes out later next month and Dreadnoks Declassified ships in two months. check for it at your local gunshop/comicbook store. GO JOE!!!

the other day i was asked to come and sign comics and doodle some sketches at the grand opening of a local comicbook shop / gun store....i know what your thinking. WHY CANT THERE BE A PLACE LIKE THAT WHERE I LIVE???? well i will tell you...i live in a place where the gene pool is rather shallow. anyway long story short, i did this sketch for a kid named Riley who bought an original piece from me. all in all it was still a good time. a few free sloppy joes and a hot dog later i went home and drew this up for him. hes a big venom fan.

Well, now that the convention is over things are slowing down and getting back to normal. I want to thank everyone who came by the table and spent thier hard earned money. This years convention was the most fun I have had in a long time. Thanks to the company I had there was never a dull moment. Dustin, Eric, and Mark...thanks guys.
